How I stay protected from the sun
When I was a teenager, I don’t think I had any thoughts about how laying out in the sun could make my skin look later in life. While I would put sunscreen on because if I didn’t, my fair skin would turn red very quickly, I also laid out in the sun for hours with the goal of getting a tan. As I got older, I started to use more self-tanning products instead of laying out I think more just to make things easier but now in my 30’s, I do my best to avoid the sun not only to help prevent skin cancer but also to help my skin look better as I age. Below are some of the products I use for my skin in my adult years.

Your Stylist Says The Visor
I started wearing wide brim hats a few years ago, some of which looked more flattering than others. I’ve really liked this one lately because it has good coverage, is a thick material so it doesn’t let much light in, and I also like that it’s a visor so my hair still looks good afterwards and I usually just put it up in a clip or bun on top.
Coolibar clothing: https://www.coolibar.com/
I will often grab for something from this company if I’m wearing casual clothes to help my skin stay protected. I think this can be a better option sometimes than putting on sunscreen because it doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or wanting to take a shower soon after.

I’m embarrassed to say but I do sometimes drive or go on walks with these because I wonder how much my arms and hands get exposed to the sun in these environments and how wearing these can prevent the damage.
European sunscreens and lip sunscreen
When I can and can find reasonable prices to ship to the US, I try to use more European sunscreens than US ones since they have more advanced filters that provide better protection. I’ve gravitated more to mineral sunscreens now for pregnancy and postpartum but I plan to go back to these afterwards.
